Your local recycling centre.
EcoDrops serve a number of key functions to manage recycling and
refuse for Christchurch and allow you to reclaim your space!
Each station has a recycling centre where we accept a wide range
of items that can either be recycled or reused. If your
yellow bin is full or you want to get rid of some old furniture,
washing machine or other household items they can be dropped off
free of charge. Click here to see what we can accept then you
can simply drop in, drop off and feel great.
Each station also has a household hazardous waste drop off area
to take oils, car batteries and other liquids or materials deemed
hazardous. Please check our listing for what we can
The waste section of the EcoDrops is located behind the
weighbridge. In this area, we have the pit for taking general
waste plus designated areas for green waste and hardfill.
Dropping off material beyond the weighbridge will incur a
charge so please see our current price list for up-to-date information.

Moving, readying for repairs or just need more space – the EcoDrop can help! Simply drop in, drop off and drive away knowing you have reclaimed your space – and if we can reuse it, it’s free!
If you have clean hard fill, the disposal rate is a fraction of that of general refuse. That’s because it can be reused for roading and construction projects, and therefore avoids the higher costs of going into landfill. Find out here what qualifies for the lower Clean Hard Fill rate.
